STILL

hide me now
under Your wing
cover me
within Your mighty Hand

when the oceans rise
and thunders roar
i will soar with You
above the storm
Father You are King over the flood
i will be still
know You are God

find rest my soul
in Christ alone
know His Power
in quietness and trust

short time here at comp again!
whoo hoos.
acc wanted to reply to tag in the tagboard.
but they told me i was being too wordy.
fine.
so i'm here to blog instead.
wed!~
wallace brought our P2 yrbook!
ohmyword.
and how come i don't have it. irritating you know.
so there we were, at some bench outside library cos apparently he can't tahan the cold.
which really makes me wonder. i'm that cold-resistant meh....
and mr chin, u should really stop calling me alien! just cos i'm more cold-tolerant than you lo. :P :P
ok.
so there we were, gushing over photos..
oh my.
i saw old old old classmates, and i can't even rem all my P2 classmates' names!!
i mean, can recognize the face, but the names...... not really.
so cool la. 10 years ago k!
and its so funny, seeing how cute/toot/blur/hilarious we all looked 10 years ago..
looking for people now in HC.. etc..
wahhhhhhh.
super fun.
and the 'surprise' was photos from some brands' challenge thing we had in P6!!
i can't even remember what essay i wrote that got me into the semi-s or finals or whatever in front of taka la!
mygoodness.
this is so much fun, recalling everything..
i think i kinda forgot there even was such a competition!
but i do rem thinking they were so cheapo cos i had to write my own name on my own cert. actually we all did. cos they were all participation certs!
hahahhaha.
and our names even appeared on the newspaper k! hahahha wallace kept the newspaper cutting.
eh, and if i had the newspaper cutting, i would really go and keep it properly lo.
and if laminating means after another 30 years it'll still be intact, why not??!
so there.
haha.
ahhh.
i love thinking about the old days...
i mean harping on past things ain't very healthy la,
but it's nice to think back once in a while.. about the good old days..
HAHAHA.
just realised that i made myself sound so old.
just imagine, only 18 and so many memories.
what about when i turn like, 40 or sth! wahh. :)

ytd while having dinner, got a msg from a dear old fren..

'just attended my sis's p6 graduation, and they were singing cheesy ij songs and screaming and i realised just how much i miss you guys. sigh. :o('

and suddenly i too realised how much i missed ootgr..
i presume they all received the msg too..
:)
4 years of singing together, and going thru good and bad times together..
our crazy times at macs after choir..
where we laughed and chomped our way thru like, mountains of french fries.
oh yeah, i remember they were mountains lor.
gold star showers after syf..
the first time i ever went on stage..
our flamingo-pink uniforms..
how we never were able to have proper camps and only day camps..
how we progressed from singing songs w accompaniment to acappella songs..
the fantastic farewells..
the first time i ever heard ice kachang..
our farewell when we sang the entire self-arranged medley of all the significant songs we'd ever sung in our 4 years together and all the juniors started crying..
so many memories.
not all good, also not all bad.

when u think about it,
4 years is not a very long time, really.
let alone 6 years eh, fel? :)
i really think it isn't.
probably won't grow tired of singing w this bunch..
my dream?
that 5,10 years down the road, we'd still meet up, once in a while, chitchat, sing old songs.. 'cheesy ij songs' that only ij gals will know how to sing..

those 4 years was where i really felt warmth in the school.
family and all that.
it's just different la.

i know i said i'll trust in God
i'll trust in Him for my exams
and try not to worry.
afterall, He takes care of the birds in the fields,
what more me? and you?

but it ain't easy.
esp like what mo said, 'we can't see God, He's not physically here, He's like the wind'
or sth.
it's not easy to completely trust in Him.
but i'm still learning. and trying to let go everyday.
even as worries plague me about how i am supposed to complete all my revision within this super short span of time.
bit by bit, everyday.. overcoming fear in faith.
:)

so when we sang this song today, it really spoke to me. :)

He will carry you
there is no problem too big
God cannot solve it

there is no mountain too tall
He cannot move it

there is no storm too dark
God cannot calm it

There is no sorrow too deep
He cannot soothe it

if He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders
I know my brother that He will carry you
if He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders
I know my sister that He will carry you

He said "Come unto Me all who are weary and I will give you rest."

5:49 PM

sang this during service today.. a new song to me. and a really nice one at that.
Thank you Lord, for all the things that You've given me, blessed me with..
Thank You Lord for the good things.. and also the bad ones.. that through the good things i was blessed, there was joy and memories and experiences gained, that really made me appreciate where i am today.
for the bad things that strengthened my faith, and made me stronger, wiser and helped to bring people closer..
thank You Lord for everything.

and even though good times don't last forever.. i'm thankful for the times they lasted.. and for the memories that i'll always keep with me. don't you agree?

thank You Lord

I come before you today
And there's just one thing that I want to say
Thank you lord
Thank you lord
For all you've given to me
For all the blessings that I cannot see
Thank you Lord
Thank you Lord

[chorus]
With a grateful heart
With a song of praise
With an outstretched arm
I will bless your name
Thank you Lord
I just wanna thank you Lord
Thank you Lord
I just wanna thank you Lord
Thank you Lord

For all You've done in my life
You took my darkness and gave me Your light
Thank you Lord
Thank you Lord
You took my sin and my shame
You took my sickness and healed all my pain
Thank you Lord
Thank you Lord

well.
macs breakfast was.................
ok lah.
haha. quite cool given it was a treat :D
but i think next time i'll just stick to hotcakes.
hotcakes rule!!!!!
and i think pee club had a superb time laughing at me today.
hmpf.

so what's wrong with being excited about a nice sumptuous breakfast huh..

and so the day has come, and it is about to be over..
2 years of being classmates with 24 other people officially ended today.
oh yah, we'll be sitting together for exams and stuff..
but today was the last time we had a proper classroom session in a relaxed atmosphere together right?
right..

there wasn't a proper ending,
no proper farewells,
maybe because we didn't really feel like it was the last day of school.
but deep inside,
i guess it just felt a tad weird.
or maybe it's just me.

i can still recall the first time we all met,
sitting in a single line in the hall..
exchanging glances, not really sure who to talk to..
we met our crazy and 'happening' seniors..
sat in a circle outside the audi reciting names..
the first time we met our CT..
the unbelievable amazing race where people got left behind along the way and yet we still won..
the first time we all went as a class to tchs to eat..
our first lessons..
our first block test..
i still remember the reactions of the class after the physics paper was collected..
collective amazement and disbelief at how incredibly hard the paper was.
(alright, or maybe it was just me again.)
how we all went mad playing monopoly when we were supposed to be practising our OPs..

so many memories.
not all good, but also not all bad,
but all i will treasure forever.

different people,
different characters.

but all have added so much colour into my life.
i haven't been more irritated during tutorials and lectures,
more frustrated during pw discussions,
more annoyed at silly questions,
more put off by the lack of seriousness and enthusiasm (at times)

yet
i haven't been more tickled by crazy antics,
more amused at how united we are at doing the most ridiculous of things,
more happy joking and laughing with classmates,
had more fun during lessons,
more inspired by certain individuals in areas of my life..

and i haven't exactly had so much fun laughing so much at stuff till i cried. oh yeah.
:)

we may not be the most united of classes,
but i still do love my class, and the people who made the 2 years here so memorable.
i can't believe 2 years have flown past so quickly..
but i'm thankful for the time it lasted.
(:

I will sing

Lord you seem so far away
a million miles upon the hills today
and though I haven't lost my faith
I must confess right now
that it's hard for me to pray

I don't know what to say
and I don't know where to start
but as You give the grace
with all that's in my heart

I will sing
I will praise
even in my darkest hour
through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing
I will praise
lift my hands to honour You
because Your Word is true
I will sing

Lord it's hard for me to see
all the thoughts and plans
You have for me
but I will put my trust in You
knowing that You died to set me free

I don't know what to say
and I don't know where to start
but as You give the grace
with all that's in my heart

I will sing
I will praise
even in my darkest hour
through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing
I will praise
lift my hands to honour You
because Your Word is true
I will sing

I will sing

argh.
my nose is annoying me.
and so is my throat.
blahhhs.

anw.
i can't wait for macs breakfast tmr!!!!!!
ahhhhh.
think kasster got tired of my exclamations of 'can't wait for tmr!!'.
hahah. and whoever was sitting ard me during phy.
hopefully i'll be able to taste every single yummy bite.
yayy.
i can't wait!
*drums fingers on table*
haha.

yay so i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one who's getting annoyed during lects huh..
but ah wells.
that's school life for u i guess.

listened to the recording of amor during olympics!
whoa. methinks we sounded like foreigners sei..
and windy nights was so nice!!
think i always enjoy listening to our recordings..
:)

and i must say. i think our sunset was quite nice.
i actually like listening to that multi-language song that we had such a problem getting!
esp the 'colour'. hooboy.

and 'farewell elijah' has to be the most hilarious.
screeeeeech and screeeech and screech.
haha. but it's so funny, it brings a smile to my face everytime.
(: (: (:

and now i come crashing back to reality, into my choir-less and mugging world.
with the dreaded big monster looming ahead.
3 weeks more to go.

what do u do when u find out someone is against what you live for and all that you stand for?
what do u do when u discover things u don't want to know?
what do u do when it seems like the world is turning its back on u and u feel so alone, even in the midst of a crowd?
what do u do when its someone who's dear to u?

truth hurts.

hahah..

right.. i see that the post about my cousin has invoked some rather err.. huge responses.
for example.
my dear ching, who has asserted repeatedly that she'll never stand next to me again if i wear the choir tee to choir. blah.
oei! i washed the clothes liao la! i'm sure they smell as good-smelling as soap or flowers or whatever lo...
blah. think i must wait a long time before i wear choir tee again. hahaha. anw it's gonna be a loooong time till our next choir prac man..

hmmms.
i wonder why certain people attend lectures when it's quite obvious that they aren't there to listen to the lecturer.
i mean, how do you pay attention when u're talking when the lecturer's talking?
and seriously. if you don't wanna listen, don't attend the lecture!
there really is no point.

esp when the lectures are REVISION lectures and there are people who attend who actually want to REVISE on that particular topic that they're weak in, you know.

and i especially can't stand those who purposely go to the other lecture cos well, 'they're doing A level papers and that's what we should be doing' when the teachers have allocated them to do other stuff cos obviously, they were at the smarter end of the cohort! ok, going to another lecture is fine. what irks me is that they claim they want to listen, but oh, i can clearly see that chatting away like nobody's business practically throughout the entire lecture is equivalent to paying attention, huh?

laughing. talking. incessantly. singing songs OFF-KEY.

all this while poor people who really need to attend these lectures are trying their darndest best to ignore the 'background noises' and keep up with what the lecturer is saying.
and as proven today, shushing these people positively has no effect on them. zero.

i can't understand.

why do you attend a lecture when all you wanna do is talk? isn't it quite obvious to one with just the slightest bit of intelligence that the point of going to a lecture is because you want to gain something out of it by listening and learning?

and even if you claim you can multi-task; talking and listening at the same time, please bear in mind that there ARE people who desperately need to pull up their socks this one last lap before the final exam and i seriously do not appreciate your severe lack of consideration for others.

grrrrrrrr.
sometimes i just wish everyone would disappear.
sorry.
just needed to rant. cos i've bore with it long enough.

should i change my blog skin?
hmmmm. *ponders*
but that would mean like lots of time..
cos i would need to search for skins....
and considering how limited i am in my blog-deco-ing skills.. it would prob take lots of time...
but people usually can't see my nice windmill picture in the sunset up there..
and some say it's plain. :P
blah. but i like it!
and i seriously dun really care. hahhahaha.
see how lars. after As or sth.
cos i really can't be bothered about trivial things like this.

9:00 PM

alrights. this page which i'm supposed to type my post on looks weird. like, super disarrayed.
haha. anyway!

yesterday was super interesting. and very fun!
did pamugun. and hmmm. wasn't too bad i guess. better than when we first combined BNM.. the sops just died off halfway.. and poor woon trying to pull us along. :P it was quite fun la i guess. haha. though we probably did it at like, 1/4 of the actual pace.. hmmm..

then went for dinner! actually, 2 dinners.
dinner at grandma's house.... where i totally outdid myself. whoa.
then went my uncle's house! to celebrate my baby cousin being one month old or sth.
just imagine.......... when the kid's in sec sch, i'll be like, oh my word........ so old......... -_-

haha. anyway.
so yesterday the kid's older sister, also my cousin (duh), gave me a most unique present ever. it was truly unforgettable. and just imagine, no one has ever given me that kind of present before k. so it was really, extremely special lo. and echoing sam's words, "i need to go shake her hand! honour, honour man."

alright. so u must be wondering, what present can a toddler give that is so remarkable??

it all started when i was watching tv with all the rest of the family(s) and then the little girl started wailing and crying because she had been locked out of a room. actually i wasn't too bothered.

but then her screaming became more insistent, so i started to look around for a toy i might possibly distract her with (since she obviously wasn't gonna be let into the room) and my ma also suggested i go distract her...

looking around, i found no toy i could use so i decided to try my luck with nothing but my bare hands and cajoling-kid abilities.
approached her and squatted down beside her and tried to lead her away from the door.

and to my amazement, she stopped crying! just like that. whoaaa.. even my aunties stood around helplessly la... hahaha!
so, emboldened, i decided to carry her into her room where there would be even more toys! (yippee)

and just as i stepped into her room, suddenly i felt something warm trickle.. wait, not trickle. GUSH. down my legs.
realized with open-mouthed horror that she had pee-ed on me!!!!!!!!

ohmyword. like, OHMYWORD x100 or sth.

no one, and absolutely no one, has ever let go on me before la! in all my years of carrying babies and toddlers around, none ever pee-ed on me before! (alright, maybe they were wearing pampers, but you get my drift.)

quickly placed her on the floor and i stood there in like, shock for a few sec or sth. then my wise mum began instructing us on the S. O. P. wah, u'd think she has had lots of experience or sth. :P
so led her to the toilet where me n dee ee-ed and yucks-ed our way throught the entire washing up process, hey i washed HER also k... tsktsktsk.

tried desperately to wash the pee off my shorts AND tshirt by blobbing huge blobs of water on my clothes which looked gross. really. my cousin is so fortunate i love kids.......... hahahha.
then used some hair-drier to dry my clothes...
hmmm... but urm. still had some sort of dried-pee smell on 'em. EEEEW.
u bet i was the first to lock myself in the toilet when i got home man...

hahah. truly an unforgettable experience. :P and i am SO relieved i decided to wear shorts yesterday. can u imagine if i had worn jeans?! horrors of horrors. hahahhaa!
and so my dear old szavazeng tee has been 'coloured' by many substances.. from black ink to orange fabric paint to grape jam from macs and to the latest, my cousin's pee. erp. i'm amazed it's still in one piece. hahahha.

so now the clothes are still soaking in a huge tub of soapy water in the toilet.. hahahha. shan't be so ready to carry toddlers again. hahahah.

i'm so gonna remind her about this incident when she grows up man......

what an eventful day.
